Submissions
Who: The American Observer is looking for submissions from undergraduates, graduate students, alumni and members of the faculty.
What: The Observer is a tri-weekly online news magazine that covers campus, D.C. and international issues. Articles may cover a wide range of topics relating to politics, health, sports, style and entertainment. The Observer is also looking for stories, video submissions, graphics and original photography.
When: Articles should be timely and can be submitted throughout the semester. Online editions will be published on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Where: Read the latest edition of the Observer at observer.american.edu.
Why: Get published and have your work go beyond the classroom! It will impress your family and friends, and will look great on your résumé.

Some additional guidelines:
*While there is not a set story length, average submissions should be around a page and a half double-spaced. Remember, longer isn’t always better.
*Photography submissions should include captions, dates and identify the people pictured.
*All work should be original and must be your own. Please follow the Academic Integrity Code at all times.
*Please include contact information for your sources.
