Brunch fit for a queen

Perry’s Sunday brunches are like many others in Adams Morgan, with the exception that while people serve themselves scrambled eggs and bacon at the buffet, drag queens parade between tables in extravagant dresses and lip-sync Shakira and Gloria Gaynor songs. Far from being intimidated, customers cheer and take out one-dollar bills to place them in the drag queen’s bra. Like in a cabaret or a bachelor’s party, the drag queens take off men’s t-shirts, sit on people’s lap and eat fruit from their mouth. But since this all takes place during daylight, it doesn’t feel as naughty.
Perry’s is located in 1811 Columbia Road. The brunch goes from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. but it is convenient to be there early because the waiting line is long. The price is of $ 22.95 per person.
