The OBSERVER Goes Green. . .
As the center of the U.S. government, the nation's Capitol building serves as a symbol of authority and power. Yet, the building is one of the U.S.'s environmentally-friendly facilities in the capital. Emitting an estimated total of 91,000 tons of carbon dioxide last year, Congress now realizes something must be done, specifically through House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's "Green the Capitol Initiative."
