Wine-and-cheese bash
Didn’t make it to the Beaujolais Nouveau fest at midnight Wednesday? You’re in luck.
Join the Alliance Francaise cultural institute Friday (Nov. 16) night for a belated Beaujolais Nouveau celebration. Beaujolais Nouveau is a wine fermented over three weeks and opened on the third Thursday of November. Enjoy wine and cheese and the musical stylings of Edith Piaf as performed by Simone Marchand.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and lasts until 9:30 p.m. Costs are steep at $33, but for good wine and cheese, it just might be worth it.
The Alliance Francaise de Washington is located at 2142 Wyoming Ave. NW.
Everyone Loves a Parade
Get your fill of Turkey-day early by heading out of town for the Baltimore and Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parades on Saturday, Nov. 17.
The Baltimore Parade begins at 11 a.m. at the Inner Harbor (Pratt and Light streets). Santa Claus is the main feature.
The Montgomery County Parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at Georgia Avenue and Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring, Md. The Redskins Marching Band will be the highlight.
It’s a Go-Go
Celebrate a D.C. tradition at the second annual Go-Go Awards at Constitution Hall on Sunday, Nov. 18.
The musical renditions made famous by D.C. musicians will be honored all night.
The event starts at 7 p.m.
Constitution Hall is located at 1776 D St., NW.
