The Colorado Rockies face off against the Boston Red Sox in the World Series Wednesday. Fans of the Rockies had some problems trying to buy tickets. Apparently, a few million people tried to log in to purchase tickets at the Rockies Web site. However, the site wasn’t ready for the overwhelming traffic and it crashed. Instead only a few hundred people got tickets. It’s been fixed and the Rockies now need to sell about 60,000 tickets.
The Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians in the seventh game to win the pennant. If there wasn’t that day off in the middle of the series the Indians probably would have won. There was no need to have that day off in the middle. Sunday’s game couldn’t be found on TV — well, at least my TV — and as a baseball fan that confusion wasn’t appreciated.
The Boston Red Sox are probably going to win the series because in 2004, they “reversed the curse” and won their first World Series in 84 years. Second, they have been in this situation before and they know how to elevate their game to the next level in order to win.
The Rockies are a good team — there is no doubt about that. However, they don’t have much experience in the World Series.
I predict that the Red Sox will win it all in 6 games.
