On Saturday night, the Washington Capitals played the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Verizon Center. The National Hockey League kicked off its season this October.
A sold-out crowd of 18,277 fans attended the game. Capital fans booed Sidney Crosby while Penguins fans booed Alex Ovechkin each time either player had the puck.
The Penguins beat the Capitals 2-1 with Ryan Whitney scoring the game winning goal. It was his 100th career point.
It’s early in the season and both teams are in good positions.
