Hirshhorn Gallery Afterhours
Treat yourself to a night of art, live music and drinks at the Hirshhorn Gallery’s afterhours party Friday night. You can preorder tickets for $10 online or pay $12 at the door – but come early, as tickets tend to sell out.
This Friday’s event features the Morris Louis Now exhibit and local band Fools and Horses. DJ YumYum will begin his set of “Bad music, on purpose” at 10 p.m.
The Hirshhorn Gallery is located on the National Mall. Doors open at 8 p.m. For more information and to buy tickets online, visit the Hirshhorn’s site here.
Columbia Heights Day
Head over to the Northwest neighborhood before megastores Target and Best Buy open to celebrate the culture of Columbia Heights. In the first Columbia Heights Day, local restaurants and bars will be offering happy hour specials all day; so stop in the Wonderland Ballroom, Rita’s, Red Rock’s Pizza or The Heights for cheap booze and food.
The event starts at 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at Harriet Tubman Elementary School at 11th and Kenyon Streets, NW. Admission is free to the public.
For more information, visit the event’s site here.
Blocktoberfest
Bring in fall at the nation’s largest Oktoberfest celebration at RFK Stadium this Saturday. Ten performance stages and over 60 performers will ensure a rocking good time at the event.
The event starts at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and ends at 10:00 p.m. Admission prices range from $15 to $30 for regular tickets, or $80 to $120 for VIP status.
Visit the event’s site here for more information.
