Growing discontent sparks anti-war protests in Washington
A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll shows that the majority of Americans oppose giving President Bush the $190 billion he requested for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Such discontent has fueled anti-war protests in the Washington area in recent weeks. The largest protest took place Sept. 15 when as many as 100,000 people marched from the White House to the Capitol. The march was organized by a coalition of organizations against the war.
